The Rajasthan Waqf Tribunal was created by notification of 16th May, 2014 under section 83 (1) of the Waqf Act, 1995. The purpose of setting up of the Tribunal is to settle any dispute, question or other matter relating to a waqf or waqf property including eviction of tenants and the termination of the right and obligation of lessor and lessee.

The Tribunal is situated at Jaipur. It is headed by an officer of the District Judge rank. Shri Chhagan Lal Gupta is presently the Chairman of the Rajasthan Waqf Tribunal.

The other two members are one RAS officer of ADM rank and a person having knowledge of muslim law and jurisprudence. Shri Chhagan Lal Beniwal is presently administrative member of the Tribunal.
